Sudoku method

Surely this logical method for solving a sudoku puzzle without thinking is completely obvious. I mean, how else do people solve these things? By guesswork?

    Good. Now that somebody has proved that computers can solve sudokus, we can all go back to reading Dostoyevsky on the train.
