According to this research, the reason young boys don’t want to sing in traditional choirs is that word ‘boy’ now means something different. Apparently, because of the phrase ‘boy band’, boys now think that a boy singing should sound like an adult male singing. Apparently.
I, on the other hand, really don’t think the reluctance of most boys to join choirs is down to some “OMG I’m a boy, but when I open my mouth I do not make a sound like Ronan Keating” confusion.
